Poetry Friday: Hello Spring!

Welcome to Poetry Friday. This week's round up is hosted by Sloth Reads blog. Be sure to click over once you've finished up here to enjoy all of this week's poetry goodness. I missed the challenge posted for "Goof Off" poems, but I did write a little something to welcome spring.

Hello Spring!
by Kimberly M. Hutmacher

Hello new day
Hello spring
Hello new life
Fledglings sing!

Hello raindrops
Soaking ground
Hello green grass
Newly found.

Hello trees
bursting with buds
Hello worms
emerging from mud.

Hello tulips
dotted with blooms
Hello spring cleaning
Hello brooms.

Hello springtime
Hello dreams
Hello sunshine's
hopeful beams.

  1. Love your "Hello Spring" poem Kimberly, it's very jubilant, and I'm more than ready for it! Hoping the Robins that I've been watching this last week will find some worms in our not completely thawed soil. :)

    1. I agree, Michelle. It was nice to see the season turn on the calendar and even nicer to see the 50 degree temps this week.

  2. Very nice, Kimberly! Almost reads like a little board book or picture book...I can see all the images so clearly.

  3. Love the "hellos", so true what we do this time of year. "Look, there's a ........" You've shown us "sunshine's hopeful beams" beautifully.

    1. Me too, jama. It seems like winter held on extra long this year, but spring feels extra sweet.

  6. Emerging from mud! Wonderful....and the brooms. Well, one of these days I'll feel inspired to clean. I will won't I? lol.
Great rhythm and rhyme in this. I love how positive it sounds as I tap my food to the beat...as hail hits the house :(

    1. Thanks, Linda! I know what you mean. The "spring cleaning" part is probably my least favorite. I do hope the hail has stopped and sunshine comes your way soon!
