The above photo is of my front porch. I love fall! I wish the entire year could be fall! The small pumpkins and gourds came from our garden, and we purchased the flowers and sign from our local Farmer's Market. Here's my little front porch fall haiku.

Happy Fall Y'all!
This week I want to share something else writing-related that is bringing me joy. My vlog partner, Heidi Bee Roemer, is hosting Poetry Fest. What is Poetry Fest you ask? For the entire month of October, Heidi is posting one STEM/STEAM poem everyday on social media. Heidi wanted to use this opportunity to promote other authors and their newest books as well. To that end, she is pairing each of those poems with a nonfiction book on the same topic. You can follow Heidi's Poetry Fest on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SteamPoweredPoetryVideosForKthrough8 and https://www.facebook.com/heidi.roemer.90 . You can also follow along on twitter at https://twitter.com/poetweet4 and https://twitter.com/steampoweredpo1 .
Thank you for stopping by. I've missed you all!

I'm with you, I wish the entire year could be fall as well. I love your haiku with its mums and marigolds. Fall Fest looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bridget, and thanks again for taking on hosting duties this week :)

ReplyDeleteThank you, Rose! :)
DeleteI love it - your porch and your haiku.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sally! :)
DeleteFun and lively haiku - just like fall! Your porch is so festive. I would love sitting in that rocker with a pumpkin spice coffee ... or a mug of hot cider.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fran! If you're ever in my neck of the woods, you're more than welcome to join me on the porch for a yummy fall beverage.
DeleteYes, I am a fall devotee also. I'm so glad you are back, Kimberley... I have felt the same way. I hope this season will be a boon for you, and that writing will come easy.Best, Karen
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. I love this community, and I have dearly missed all of you.
DeleteKimberly, thank you for inviting us onto your porch for a fall treat. Your poem is a lovely pairing. Every home should fill the air with pumpkin delights and mums like your porch and poem do for me. Happy Fall to You. I am showcasing autumn image poems for my Abundant Autumn Gallery so send me a combination if you like.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the invitation, Carol. I'll get on it this weekend :)
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling like writing again!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ruth! :)
DeleteFall is my very favorite season too, and the photo of your porch made me smile. Thank you for sharing it. Your haiku is delightful!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fall fan, too. Glad you dipped your feather in the inkwell, Kimberly!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tabatha!
DeleteIt's really nice to see this post from you. Oh, I feel for the folks that make their living in the children's book world. Books haven't gone away of course, but the stress of the times really does impact a willingness to be butt-in-chair working.
ReplyDeleteYour fall porch and haiku exude joy. I'm so glad you are in your season. I have seen some of the poems that Heidi has shared on twitter. Book pairing is such a fun activity! I love doing that. Thanks for the tip....here's to big, bright marigolds!
Thank you, Linda. It feels good to be back with all of you, and yes, here's to big bright marigolds! :)
DeleteI don't know how I skipped over you and a couple of others, Kimberly, but glad I've returned to check. How nice that you're back and taking part in Heidi's fest! Happy Fall back to you! We have a very windy day today, leaves are blowing everywhere! It was fun until suddenly it got colder! Changes, changes! Have a lovely week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda:)
